With the aim of contributing to scholarship on costume designers’ agential collaboration within contemporary dance, this article centres creative authorship designer. Using notions ‘signature style’ and ‘authorship’ as key research lenses, it investigates work Finnish designer Erika Turunen specifically her with choreographer Tero Saarinen. Drawing from in-person interviews materials related costumes, addresses issues re-invention versus repetition, process outcome two interlinked steps in creation Turunen’s signature style.
